What is an OCT?
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an advanced imaging technology that allows your doctor to view detailed cross-sectional images of the eye. Using focused light, an OCT scan captures highly magnified images of ocular structures and provides precise measurements of the tissue that makes up those structures.
OCT scans are commonly used in the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinal disease, and keratoconus. These scans help detect subtle changes that may not be visible during a routine examination and are essential for monitoring new or worsening signs of disease that could affect vision.
OCT scans are billed to your medical/health insurance and may be subject to deductible, co-payment, or co-insurance amounts depending on your individual plan.
