Dr. Ashley Pulis received her undergraduate degree from The University of Kansas where she studied Human Biology. She went on to receive her doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. During optometry school, Dr. Pulis was active in Student Volunteers Optometric Services to Humanity, and traveled to Colombia to provide optometric services to those in need. In her final year of optometry school, she completed an externship with a private practice owned by an optometrist and ophthalmologist. During this rotation, Dr. Pulis was able gain knowledge with pre/post-op cataract surgery and LASIK, as well as the intricacies of private practice. She completed a second externship in Santa Fe with Indian Health Services. This rotation consisted of diagnosing and treating many ocular conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and various eye infections. It was here that Dr. Pulis developed her love for the Land of Enchantment and decided to pursue a career in New Mexico.
Dr. Pulis began work in Taos, NM at a local optical shop and the Taos/Picuris Indian Health Clinic. She moved to Albuquerque and has enjoyed serving the patients of Accent on Vision since 2013. Dr. Pulis enjoys getting to know each of her patients while providing compassionate, competent eye care. She is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the New Mexico Optometric Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Pulis enjoys spending time exploring the great outdoors of New Mexico with her husband and their three dogs.
